The Nelson Soccer Association (NSA) is a non-profit community soccer association whose mission is to provide all soccer players, coaches, officials and parents in Nelson and the surrounding area with programs and opportunities to learn, play and excel in the sport of soccer.

Concussion Protocols
Concussions are a serious and often overlooked injury in youth sport.
Immediate Action
- Any suspected concussion = immediate removal from play
- The player must not return until assessed and cleared by an independent medical professional experienced in concussion management.
Return-to-Play Process
- 6-step graduated return-to-play protocol
- Minimum 24 hours between each stage
- Progression only if symptom-free

Injury & Incident Reporting
Minor injuries are common; however, significant injuries or incidents (including suspected concussions) must be documented and reported.
Insurance Coverage
All registered NSA players, coaches, and officials are covered under the BC Soccer Sport Accident Insurance Program for sanctioned activities.
Required Steps to report an injury
- At the time of the incident
- Coach or team official MUST complete an Injury Report Form
- Insurance Claims
- Families submit claims directly to BC Soccer
- Claims must be submitted within 30 days of the incident

- Alternate Measures: Prior to complaint NSA may be able to handle the situation through the ED, TD, Coaches or Referees.
